Lisa Johnston

Board Chair
Operations Manager

Lisa started with (then) Miracle Diapers in August of 2008, and is extremely excited to watch The Cloth Diaper Foundation turn a new leaf and help families across the nation. She started out as a Chapter Manager for Texas, and within a month, Lisa stepped up her role in the organization and was appointed Operations Manager and then Board Chair.

She lives in Katy, Texas near The Cloth Diaper Foundation Headquarters with her husband Andy and her three kiddos, Kylie, Braxton, and Hawk who all help out with various parts of the organization. Andy does much of the package drop offs and pickup as well as the heavy lifting. Kylie helps with sorting and counting. Braxton loves throwing the donated diapers at his brother, while Hawk likes to hide in the “Diaper Cave”.

Kids

Although she has a degree in Digital Media Design, Lisa would rather spend her time meeting and helping new people so she spends her time volunteering for various other organizations such as Girl Scouts, and The Freecycle Network. Aside from volunteering full time for The Cloth Diaper Foundation, Lisa is a labor and postpartum doula in the Houston area as well as an Avon Representative.

Lisa started cloth diapering when her oldest daughter was about 3. She could not find a diaper that she liked, so she started making her own. Since she found her love of cloth, she has devoted much of her life to cloth diaper and natural living education.

Along with a friend, in March of 2006, she started a small online natural parenting community. In April of 2008, she founded the Houston Area Cloth Diaper Education Group to help families learn more about cloth diapers and their benefits.
