If you email us with a question that is explained on this page, we will more than likely link you back to this page.  We have spelled out the application information and instructions on this page so that we do not have to do so individually.  Thank you!

IMPORTANT – Please check your SPAM folder periodically to make sure that further questions or instructions are not going unread.  If you do not receive an email because it went to your SPAM folder, your diaper shipment will be delayed.

Our structure and policies have changed for 2010.  Please read carefully before proceeding to the application.

When you Apply for a Cloth Diaper Foundation Loan:

-The Application now doubles as an eAgreement so that there is another step in the process. Please read it carefully.

-You must submit a copy of your driver’s license and a copy of the birth certificate (or proof of pregnancy from your midwife or OB if you are currently pregnant)  for each child you wish to receive diapers, UNLESS you have returned diapers and this is an UPSIZE.  You will not receive diapers until we have received a copy of these (with the exception of an upsize) as well as shipping fees.  Instructions will be given  on how to submit upon approval.

-Soon after you’ve submitted your application, you will receive an email with instructions on how to submit your application and shipping fees via paypal or money order (we do not accept personal checks).

-We reserve the right to verify any information that you disclose on your application, including, but not limited to: proof of income, proof of expenses, proof of state benefits, etc.

-You understand that applying does not guarantee that you will be approved for our services.

-You understand that once we ship your package, you will not be eligible for a shipping refund.

-You understand that we only serve those who live in the continental United States (it is no longer cost effective for recipients OR The Cloth Diaper Foundation to ship outside of the continental US), and you are less than 2 months from your estimated due date if you are pregnant. (If you have an older child in need of diapers and you are pregnant, you may proceed.)

-The child you wish to diaper must be under 36 months and 35 pounds.

-You understand that, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES, are you allowed to sell the diapers loaned to you by The Cloth Diaper Foundation, Inc., as it is punishable by law.

-You understand that understand that you are not allowed to contact manufacturers for diaper repairs as all manufacturer warranties on diapers donated to The Cloth Diaper Foundation are voided, and they are not to be returned to, replaced by, or repaired by the manufacturer.

-You realize that while we try to send a variety of diapers which can include but are not limited to AIO’s, AI2’s, Fitteds, Pockets and Inserts, Prefolds, etc., we are not able to guarantee that you will be sent diaper covers if you receive fitted diapers.

The Cloth Diaper Foundation, Inc. will not exchange diapers with the possible exception of our mistake of MAJOR size/known allergy discrepancies. We understand that not all diapers work for all babies, however, these diapers are to give you a jump start in cloth diapering your child. If we send a particular diaper that does not work the way you’d like, leaves red marks, causes rashes, has an odd fit, does not wick moisture, is a color/print you do not like, is pink with bows and you have a boy, is blue with cars and you have a girl, has closures you do not prefer, is too bulky, does not absorb enough, is stained or stains, leaks, wicks, smells, tears, rips, breaks, snaps, pops, crumbles, is stolen, or stands up and walks away (disappears), etc., we WILL NOT replace/exchange it, but we will try to work with you to figure out a solution to your diapering problems.
We now have three packages from which our recipients can choose:

The Jump Start

The Jump Start package allows you to pay a lower shipping fee up front and keep the diapers for as long as you need to so that you can decide when you are ready for the diapers to be passed on to the next family in need.  While your family is using our diapers you will be required to keep in contact with your Chapter Manager. You will be financially responsible for returning the diapers on your own time.

The Jump Start: 1 Child – $15, 2 Children – $20, 3 Children – $25

The Freedom

The Freedom package is a limited time loan that allows you and your family to be more aware of your financial situation and diapering budget.  With the money you save from using our diapers, you will have five (5) months to budget and begin to purchase your own diaper stash little by little to have the freedom to cloth diaper your child without assistance.  By the end of your limited loan time, you should be well on your way to your own personal stash of which you can be proud.  During the time your family is using our diapers, you will be required to keep in contact with your Chapter Manager and after your 5 month loan period, we will send you a prepaid return label. (Of course, if you find that after the 5 months you are in need of our assistance with a larger size, you may reapply for an Upsize.)

The Freedom: 1 child – $22, 2 children – $27, 3 children – $32

The Next Step*

The Next Step package is for recipients who are in need of a larger size for their babies. Please do not apply for an upsize until you have made arrangements with your Chapter Manager for the current diapers your family is using.  Your new set of diapers WILL NOT BE SENT TO YOU until we have approval from your Chapter Manager.  While you are using our diapers you will need to keep in contact with your Chapter Manager. You will be financially responsible for returning the diapers on your own time.

The Next Step: 1 child – $15, 2 children – $20, 3 children – $25
*Note: Due to our restructure, current recipients will need to complete a new application when before receiving an upsize.  You will NOT have to resubmit a copy of your driver’s license and child’s birth certificate.
